Welcome to Cloncurry Justice Association Inc.
Established in January 2005 under the Queensland Incorporation Act 1981. The Cloncurry Justice Association Inc. delivers a Community Justice Group.
We are funded by the Queensland Department of Justice and Attorney General (DJAG) under the Community Justice Group profile. We work with Solicitors from Queensland Legal Aid (QLA) and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island Legal Services (ATSILS), Queensland Indigenous Family Violence Legal Service (QIFVLS), Human Rights and Discrimination - Queensland Legal Aid Brisbane, Community Rehabilitation, Probation & Parole, and Queensland Police Service.
Cloncurry Justice Association Inc. provides:

Attending numerous community events and interagency meetings, we advocate and provide support to the whole community working with victims and offenders who find themselves before the criminal justice system.

Our Board of Directors
As a not-for-profit organisation, Cloncurry Justice Association Inc. is governed by a Management Committee, Our Board of Directors.
They are elected directors to oversee the Management of the Cloncurry Justice Association Inc., and the daily operations are the responsibility of an independently employed Manager.
The Board of Directors generously volunteer their valuable time, expertise and skills to develop the organisation, services, programs and activities that benefit the Cloncurry people and community.
We acknowledge and appreciate the contributions Our Chairperson and Board members make to the strategic direction, good governance and positive leadership of the Cloncurry Justice Association together with our Manager.
As an Aboriginal Organisation operating on the Mitakoodi country, we would like to respectfully acknowledge the Mitakoodi people who are the traditional custodians of the land where we undertake our business.
We pay our respects to the Elders, past, present and emerging. We extend our respects to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples of our community.

It is my Privilege to be a Board Member of Cloncurry Justice Association as I want to be able to advocate and support the Cloncurry Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and community to provide quality outcomes that are beneficial to our people.
I was born in Cloncurry and my doctor was Doctor Harvey Sutton and I come from the Turner family (Grandfather Raymond Turner, Grandmother Bessie Turner, Aunty Irene Bruce, Aunty Mary Cotterell, Mona Phillips, my mother Rose Iles and John Turner) that lived in Cloncurry through the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s and are now living throughout Queensland.
My main objective is to assist my people “Waanyi (Lawn Hills, Gulf Region) and Jaru (Bungle Bungles, Western Australia)” Native Title groups and all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples towards self-determination through knowledge, skills and economic development.
My working carer has been in the Commonwealth Government for 13 years and State Government for 9 years and I have gained a wealth of skills and experiences within the government framework.
I am the Manager of Injilinji Youth Support Service (Mount Isa and Camooweal) which provides advocacy and support to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and the Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) young people.
With my wealth of skills, knowledge, and 22 years experience of government, as well as walking and talking my Aboriginal culture throughout my life makes me dedicated to progressing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders affairs and agenda to provide better outcomes for our people.

I am a proud Ewamain man. My people are from the Central Gulf Region of Queensland (Undara Lava Tubes, Mt Surprise, Georgetown way), and Torres Strait Islander, Moa Island descendant. I grew up on the east coast between Hopevale, Yarrabah, Mareeba and Cairns.
My career spans 20 years within the Child Protection and Youth Justice systems, in both government and non-government, in Queensland and the Northern Territory. For the past 2 years I have been appointed the Treasurer of the Cloncurry Justice Association Inc. I have been on a number of boards in past.
I have studied in the areas of Psychology, Community and Human Services. I am currently undertaking a Masters in Human Services with Griffith University.
We believe all our community has the opportunity to embrace who they are, define their future, and change the world.
Our Mission
To develop community resources to facilitate and meet the community’s justice needs, including Court Innovation and Community Specific Programs to better support victims and offenders of Domestic and Family Violence as well as reintegration back into the community.
Our Vision
To empower our community by providing support for victims and offenders with legal resources to support them while dealing with the Justice system.
We can organise legal services and provide court submissions and cultural Reports to Court on your behalf. These reports tell your story about your life.
